Lori has been working with dogs since 2004 and has been a Certified Professional Dog Trainer since 2009. She was introduced to the sport of Scent Work in 2011 and it has become her passion. While she will still take an occasional private behavior consult or training lesson, Scent Work has become the focus of her business.
Do Over Dog Training, the business Lori runs with her partner Aaron Timberlake, was founded to help all of those rescue dogs that deserved a “do over.” Lori quickly discovered that the best way to help a fearful dog build confidence is Scent Work! The best activity for a reactive dog is Scent Work! The best activity for a busy puppy is Scent Work! The best activity for an older dog to keep their mind active is Scent Work! There isn’t a dog she’s met that wouldn’t benefit from this activity.
And then there’s the competitive side of Scent Work. While the sport was invented as a way for pet dogs to play and go to trials it has quickly become a very competitive sport. Lori has caught the competition bug and so have her students! Lori and her dog Daisy compete in NACSW™ trials and have earned their Elite-1 Title and continue to trial at the Elite level. Daisy loves this game and she has a way of making it look easy. Lori and Daisy have received many placements and pronounced designations throughout their trialing experience as have many of Lori’s students.
Lori is very involved in the sport of Scent Work and offers many opportunities for her local community to learn and compete. She hosts trials, seminars, coaching days, sniff n’ gos, teaches classes for all levels, conducts seminars and workshops and is very excited to be an instructor at Scent Work University.
